Hypnosis's Backstory

Hypnosis's Backstory

This artwork was created as my GCSE final piece. It took a full year to complete and involved weeks of hand-drawn detailing, shifting between black and white. The design repeats four times in different orientations, creating a hypnotic, layered visual effect.

It reflects the idea that beautiful things are built from small, intricate details. Each section represents different paths in life — the highs, lows, complications, and everything in between. The saying “it’s not all just black and white” is woven through the piece, challenging the idea that life can be neatly divided into two sides. Look closely, and you’ll see that it’s made up of far more than explainable simplicity; it’s a reminder of the depth and complexity within all of us.
